I am practicing with my digital colors for some commissions that I have coming up soon. I am a huge fan of John's work, and have had the pleasure of meeting him several times. He gets a bad rap from a lot of, "fans with a capital 'f'" as he would say. In the longest conversation I had with him at a Mid-Ohio con several years ago he still had a passion for the medium and stories to tell, and for someone who has done as much is he I found that extraordinary. Thanks man! Notice though, I said digital coloring, not painting. I am still lightyears from where you are at with digital colorification, but it's fun to play with. The thing I am fighting most with is, if I were to watercolor it, I don't know how different it would look because I am using the same concepts. I need to learn what the machine can do as opposed to what I can do with the little I know... I don't even know if that makes sense? oh well, your book is on shelves all over now (fyi)
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
